The version which was destined to put the crown on nearly a century of labor, and, after extinguishing by its excellence all rivals, to print an indelible mark on English religion and English literature, came into being almost by accident. Ultimately it was arranged that six companies of translators should be formed, two at Westminster, two at Oxford, and two at Cambridge. The companies varied in strength from 7 to 10 members, the total (though there is some little doubt with regard to a few names) being 47. A sense of the solemnity of their subject saved them from the extravagances and conceits which sometimes mar that style; and, as a result, they produced a work which, from the merely literary point of view, is the finest example of Jacobean prose, and has influenced incalculably the whole subsequent course of English literature. On the character and spiritual history of the nation it has left an even deeper mark, to which many writers have borne eloquent testimony; and if England has been, and is, a Bible-reading and Bible-loving country, it is in no small measure due to her possession of a version so nobly executed as the Authorized Version.

Paris, and a similar edition, superintended by Dr. B. Blayney, appeared at Oxford in 1769. These two editions, in which the text was carefully revised, the spelling modernized, the punctuation corrected, and considerable alteration made in the marginal notes, formed the standard for subsequent reprints of the Authorized Version, which differ in a number of details, small in importance but fairly numerous in the aggregate, from the original text of 1611. One other detail remains to be mentioned. In 1666 appeared the first edition of the Authorized Version from which the Apocrypha was omitted. It had previously been omitted from some editions of the Geneva Bible, from 1599 onwards. The Nonconformists took much objection to it, and in 1664 the Long Parliament forbade the reading of lessons from it in public; but the lectionary of the English Church always included lessons from it. \r\nAng Bagong Testamentong ito ay isang sariwa at bagong salin sa ating\r\npambansang wikang Filipino. Ito ay maingat na hinango mula sa teksto ng\r\nAuthorized King James Version<\/b> (AKJV). Bunga ito ng apat na taong\r\nmasusing pagsisikap ng lupon ng mga makaranasang pastor at tagapag-turo\r\nng Bibliya. Ang mga naging tagasalin ay pawang katutubong Filipino na\r\nnagmula sa Gitnang Luzon. Masasabi na ang saling ito ay tunay na\r\nmaka-Filipinong paglilingkod para sa ating minamahal na sambayanan.

\r\nBuong kapakumbabaang-loob na ipinagtatapat ng mga tagasalin na hindi\r\nsila mga pantas sa mga sinaunang wikang banyagang gaya ng Hebreo,\r\nAramaico at Griyego. Gayunman, sila ay may kakayahan at bihasa sa\r\nwikang Ingles, maging sa uri ng makalumang Ingles na napapaloob sa AKJV.

\r\nBukod sa mabiyayang saklolo ng Diyos, taglay ng mga tagasalin ang mga\r\nmapagkakatiwalaang diksiyunaryo at leksikong nauukol sa mga salitang\r\nginamit ng AKJV (na inaakala naman ng marami na lipas na). Mayroon din\r\nsilang mga mahahalagang reperensiyang gabay sa kakaibang pamamaraan ng\r\nbalarila ng AKJV. Kaya nga, naging malaking tulong ang mga nabang-git\r\nsa matiyaga nilang gawain ng pagsasalin sa mga salita ng Diyos.

\r\nNagkakaisa rin ang mga tagasalin sa pansarili nilang paninindigan na\r\nang AKJV ang kaisa-isang tunay na Bibliya para sa mga mambabasang\r\nnaka-uunawa ng wikang Ingles. Para sa kapakanan ng ating 103 milyong\r\nmga kababayan, maraming taon na nilang idinadalangin na magkaroon nawa\r\nng ganap na katumbas sa wikang Filipino ang AKJV. Ang salin ng Bagong\r\nTestamentong ito ang siyang abang pagsasakatuparan ng adhikaing iyon.

\r\nIbig na ipaunawang malinaw ng mga tagasalin na hindi nila kailanman\r\nhangarin na gawing kahalili ng Bagong Testamento ng AKJV ang kanilang\r\nsalin. May pagmamalasakit na ginawa nila ang saling ito alang-alang sa\r\nnakararami nating mga kababayang hindi gaanong sanay sa wikang Ingles.\r\nSa katunayan ay lubos na naniniwala ang mga tagasalin na ang AKJV pa\r\nrin ang siyang mananatili magpakailanman bilang pangunahin at sakdal na\r\nsaligan ng pananampalataya, doktrina at pamumuhay Cristiyano.
